Carlos Tevez Returns To Albicelestes After Three Years

Carlos Tevez joins the Argentine team for the first time after three years to compete in friendly matches against England, Croatia and Portugal. Argentina’s matches are scheduled to be held in the month of November.

According to the list of names of players published in the Argentine Football Association’s official website who are playing for Argentina in the friendly matches, Tevez’s name was among three other forwards, Messi, Higuain and Sergio Aguero. Angel Di Maria and Javier Mascherano are also in the team.

Diego Maradona who used to coach the Argentine team calls Tevez “the People’s Player”.

Tevez last represented Argentina at the 2011 Copa America semifinal where Argentina lost to Uruguay He couldn’t take part in 2014 Brazil World Cup in spite of being in good form.

Gerardo Martino, head coach of the Argentine National Football Team said earlier that if Tevez manages to perform well enough at club level then he could be included in the national team. Carlos Tevez, Playing for Juventus has scored eight goals in ten matches in the 2014-15 season. Tevez represented Argentina 64 times after he debuted in 2005. He scored 13 goals playing for the national team. He also won a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics. He represented Argentina in two world cups and in three editions of Copa America.

Tevez will play at Old Trafford in England against Portugal in a friendly match to be held on 17th November. Alejandro Sabella did not consider Tevez for the 2014 world cup despite the fact that he was in good form.  Massimilano Allegri, manager of the team Juventus expressed his happiness when he heard the news of Tevez’s return to international football. He said that it was very important for Tevez to be able to play for the Albicelestes. He considers that Tevez deserves to be in the national team and he’s happy that Tevez will finally be able to play for Argentina.
