MANCINI UNSURE ON TEVEZ

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said that he is not confident about Carlos Tevez staying at Manchester City beyond the end of the season. Carlos Tevez returned after a three-month hiatus to help City once again challenge for the title alongside United.

After City went behind United by eight points in the league table, it looked like the faint title hopes were destroyed. However, Carlos Tevez returned to the City first team to inspire them to a 4-0 win over West Brom, which was followed by the 6-1 thrashing of Norwich City. This put the pressure back on United, who faltered against Wigan recently.

The 28-year-old has scored four goals in the last two matches from Manchester city, while he has also been responsible for the resurgence in the form within Sergio Aguero. All this has led to the talk of Carlos Tevez staying with City beyond the end of the season.

However, manager Roberto Mancini expressed his doubts over the possibility of the same by saying that everything depends upon the mindset of Tevez in the summer. The Argentine has attempted to leave Manchester city on numerous occasions in the past and Mancini concedes that this summer is unlikely to be different. The football betting markets make him odds-on to be playing in Italy next season.

“I don’t know. I don’t know this. It depends. Now I think it is important that we think about the next four games. After that, at the end of the season, we will see what can happen with all the players. There is no problem. It is in the past,” Mancini said when asked about the future of Carlos Tevez. The return to form for Manchester City has also coincided with the absence of Mario Balotelli, who has been an increasing source of frustration for City over the last couple of weeks.
