even at corinthians i had him as number 2 in the world behind messi and im not saying that coz i luv the guy! no one has an argument against pre-injury ronaldo im afraid. even after the injurys only one player iv seen has been almost as good which is messi. ofenomeno is the ultimate!!

I don’t think Ronaldo lacked any experience in the 98 final, at that time he had the maturity of a veteran. Nobody knows exactly what happened to Ronaldo in the eve of the final. whats for sure is Ronaldo wasn’t in the right condition to play but he unfortunately did and the rest is history.
totally agree with you but its not only that, he also played againt the some of the greatest defenders of all time the likes of Maldini, Nesta, Costacorta, Cannavaro, Stam, Desailly, Hierro, Carlos, Gatusso… and made everyone of them look stupid many times on the field. tell me a name of a defender playing today in the same league as the aforementioned players, even a 35 yr old Nesta owned Messi last year in the champions league.
the most efficient dribbler of all time,he make it look soo effortless! As great as Messi has been in the past few years he’s still no where near pre-injury Ronaldo, the most spectacular player the game has ever seen.
