WRITTEN IN THE STARS

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said that Argentine striker Carlos Tevez will score against Manchester United because it is written in the stars.

Carlos Tevez was expected to be out of the City team in January, but it an unexpected twist in the future of the Argentine, he has returned at just the crucial stage of the campaign for Manchester City. His return has also coincided with the significant boost in the form of fellow Argentine Sergio Aguero, who seemed to be in the shadows of Italian striker Mario Balotelli. Now that the Italian striker has been dropped from the City squad, Aguero has once again begun scoring goals.

Yet, Mancini reckons that it will be Carlos Tevez for will be the centre of the show when City entertain archrivals Manchester United at the Etihad stadium on Monday night. This match has been billed as the most crucial in the Premier league for the next 10 years because it would determine whether Manchester city can win their first Premier league title or not. United are the favourites to win the title this season, as they come in with a three-point advantage with only two matches remaining. However, a City win could change things in favour of the blue half of Manchester.

Mancini reckons that it is the destiny of former Manchester United player Carlos Tevez to score in this crucial match. “I think Carlos is destined to score the most important goal in the history of this club. This is my belief. “If you win the title there can be no debate about who is the No1 team in Manchester. For this year, at least. United have a fantastic history and it is impossible to change that but, for us, our targets should be to match the achievements of United, Barcelona and Real Madrid,” Mancini said.
